Know?
Just a day ago I realized that know is spelled well, know. Not that I didn't know how to spell know, but that know has both a silent k and w. I thought shouldn't it just be spelled kno? Then there would only be a silent k... maybe they wanted to make the word prettier and more complete? But, would it have looked prettier or more complete so many years ago when they made our language? I guess I kinda understand why English is one of the hardest languages to learn now...

other languages are funny too, like the silent ending in "finissaient". or how "hockey" is pronounced "ockey". but at least french has consistent rules about what is silent and what is not, so it's much easier to learn.
