Grapefruit?

Why is grapefruit called grapefruit? I mean grapefruit isn't the size of a grape, it doesn't look like a grape, and it taste nothing like a grape. Oh, english language, why do you have to be so confusing.

    haha good question. grape and grapefruit are pretty much as opposite on the spectrum of fruit type as you can get...

    LOL. yeah. it's like how you drive a car on the parkway and park a car in a driveway.

    but other languages have funny combinations of words too. like you know how the word for "dinosaur" in chinese is "terrordragon"? haha
